If you're looking for just one jacket to do it all, start here. We used our lightest GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER three-layer stretch fabric, which makes it great for milder conditions, and the stretch gives it a great fit. It's the same outer fabric as we use for our Alpha RoS 2 Jacket, called "The benchmark in how the best winter jackets should perform" by Cyclingnews.com, but the Go Jacket forgoes the Alpha's integrated liner so you can decide how much insulation you need. Add a Flanders Warm base layer and thermal jersey to extend the comfort range to subfreezing temperatures. But the fabric is only the start. We've tailored the fit to be close to body but not too close. It gives a good drape to the jacket, rounded out by details like the no-sew finishing to the hem and the zippered colored chest pocket. The hidden internal cuffs are a nice comfort touch, and you'll appreciate how they eliminate drafts from the wrist. There are three pockets on the back, with a large reflective strip stretching across the entire bottom of the pockets for nighttime visibility. Where does this jacket fit in our line? Just like the name says, we wanted to create the ideal simple emergency rain jacket. We made it completely waterproof and compact, and, as you'd expect from Castelli, we also gave it an amazing on-bike fit, yet it's still roomy enough to fit over a Gabba. It has all the trappings of a performance rain jacket, with the waterproof zipper, long tail, long sleeves, and wrist closures that can go over gloves, yet we knew you wouldn't want to break the bank with it, so the only real compromise compared to our top-of-the-line offerings is in breathability. We kept the styling toned down and added a bright colorway in Fiery Red so that you can easily use this as a commute jacket and still look great when you get to the office. The first aero jersey project was called split second When Castelli engineered the first aero jersey for road racing back in 2006, everyone thought we were crazy. Back then, aero was only for tts. Performance clothing meant moisture management. And you could win the tour de france with a baggy jersey that was little more than a polyester t-shirt. Even our aerodynamic consultants expected limited gains, so we named the jersey split second, though, like now, we thought even small gains were worth pursuing. In the end the gains were pretty substantial, and we completely revolutionized the look of the pro peloton. We're now on the sixth major revision of our aero jersey.
